Aphelion

The Aphelion Cycle

Most courses teach you what to think about your life

This one teaches you a method for actually remembering and living it.

The Name

What Aphelion Means

Aphelion is the point in an orbit farthest from the sun. Every orbit has two extremes: perihelion, the closest approach, and aphelion, the furthest reach. What makes an orbit an orbit, rather than a straight line escaping outward, is that aphelion isn't an ending. It's the turning point. The pull back begins exactly there.

The Aphelion Cycle works the same way. Awareness, Attention, and Imagination carry you outward, toward the furthest reach of what you can question, notice, and imagine. Belief and Identity sit close to the turn. Action, Experience, and Release bring you back, not to where you started exactly, an orbit never repeats itself perfectly, but back to Awareness, carrying a little more distance travelled than the time before.

The logo's orbital dots trace this same path. The name isn't decoration. It's the shape of the method.

What is this, exactly?

A practical framework for noticing more clearly, imagining more freely, and choosing more deliberately, taught through mind palace technique and story-based learning rather than lecture and worksheets. Built from two merged bodies of work: a structured model of how experience unfolds, and a method for actually remembering what you learn.

The 8-Stage Cycle

Awareness to Release, and back again

  • 1Awareness
  • 2Attention
  • 3Imagination
  • 4Belief
  • 5Identity
  • 6Action
  • 7Experience
  • 8Release

Every stage answers a different question about how experience becomes behaviour, and every stage is anchored in your imagination through a mind palace you build across the course.

Built by two people who merged their work, not their guesses

Two independently developed bodies of work, one focused on the structure of experience, one focused on how people actually learn and remember, merged into a single course. Shane and Josh both teach it.
